The building object of the intervention is part of the New Seminary of Vicenza complex built in 1954. The restructuring with relative
regulatory adaptation of the portion of the New Seminary, owned by the Ulss Company n.8 "Berica", called Area Ex Seminario, will make it
possible to maintain the centrality of the "San Bortolo" Hub Hospital for highly specialized surgical activities and to transfer medium-lowintensity surgical activities to the Ex Seminary Area with the related diagnostic support services, including radiodiagnostics and care ofoutpatient patients. In addition to these operational units, there is the Withdrawal Point, the offices of the Prevention Department andthe SUEM Provincial Operations Center. By applying the principles of humanization, in compliance with the expectations of users and theneeds of operators and the LEAN techniques for the right sizing of the operating units in order to avoid wasting space and resources,a multidisciplinary restructuring project has been developed that enhances the logistical, compositional and iconic potential of theexisting building.
