Legislative Decree no. 199 of 8 November, which implements the EU Directive 11/12/2018, no. 2001, was published in the Official Gazette 285
of 11/30/2021.
This decree contains provisions on energy from renewable sources, and defines the tools, mechanisms, incentives and institutional, financial
and legal framework, necessary to achieve the objectives of increasing the share of energy from renewable sources by 2030.
The Decree entered into force on 15 December 2021 and presents, among the most significant changes, the increase to 60% of the coverage from
renewable sources of the energy consumption of new buildings or buildings subject to major renovations. This obligation will be
operational after 180 days from the date of entry into force, so for all qualifications presented starting from 13 June 2022. 
For public buildings this obligation rises to 65%.
The Decree also defines the procedures and qualifications to be used for the installation of systems in buildings.
