Since July 19, 2025, Legislative Decree No. 102/2025 has entered into force, requiring public and private facilities to implement monitoring, control, and risk management measures for Legionella. What were once mere recommendations from the Ministry of Health have now become binding obligations: operators of collective facilities must appoint an Internal Water Systems Manager (GIDI), prepare a Water Safety Plan, carry out specific analyses, and take immediate action in the event of positive test results. This legislative update marks a historic turning point in health prevention and applies to virtually all collective facilities (schools, hospitals, offices, airports, stations, nursing homes, etc.).
